Union Workers Credit Services
By allkinds on Jan 8, 2009 | In Business
If you ever get a letter in the mail from Union Workers Credit Services do us both a favor and rip it to shreds. These people are a scam and they do not belong to a union, nor are they affiliated with Visa or MasterCard. These people are saying that you have been preapproved for a $10,000 Platinum card all you have to do is send them a $37 annual fee which is refundable when you purchase something using the $10,000 limit.
But when you read the fine print it says “You Have been approved for this platinum card membership offer because you satisfied certain consumer criteria. Visa and MasterCard are registered trademarks of Visa International and MasterCard INC. Respectively, and are unaffiliated with this offer or UWCS. Credit mount referenced herein shall not be construed to function as any type of multi-purpose credit card and is exclusively applicable for credit purchases from UWCS. Additional credit may be granted in the future at credit provider’s sole discretion. Failure to respond by expiration date will result in termination of your eligibility”.
This purely a scam, what do you get for your $37? A catalog where you can purchase products from UWCS at outrageous prices. Millions of people have fallen for this scam, don’t you be one of them. What did I do with my pre-approval letter? I burned it!
Some of you may be asking how I knew it was a scam. Well that is very simple I read the whole letter even the fine print, I also did not see any disclosure paper work that normally comes with credit card offers and third I did my research. You all need to do the same. Have you received any letters from them? Please post your comments!
News from Me
By allkinds on Jan 24, 2009 | In misc
I know I know you must all be saying what happened to Jen and her reviews. Well Jen has been extremely busy these last few weeks. Since this is really not a paid job I do, when I provide reviews I must work on my work that does pay my bills like website design and the other things I do. After all I have 4 kids and 3 dogs to take care of. Anyway that is what has been keeping me busy. But at the same time I have not forgotten you all. As you may remember I was working on switching to Wordpress, as of right now that is on hold. I may do so in the future but I am in no rush right now. Also my hubby has provided me with a great idea for All Kinds Of Reviews and I am currently running with that idea, thanks sweetie! What is the idea you’re asking? Well that is a secret until I am ready to reveal it. But I promise you, it’s going to take me in a whole new great direction and I can’t wait to do it. I really think you will enjoy what I am going to do. Also I need to announce my contest winners this week as well. Stay tuned!
Tiny Toes
By allkinds on Jan 17, 2009 | In Books
Here is a book that I thought was worth reading. The name of the book is called Tiny Toes and it is a book about a couple’s journey through infertility, prematurity and depression. The book was written by Kelly K. Damron, which describes how they overcame infertility and then the struggle to keep her marriage going and her babies alive. Although I have never had a problem with infertility I do know what it is like to have preemies, 2 out of my 4 children were preemies so I felt like I could relate to the author. The fear of the unknown comes to my mind when I think about it. The story of Kelly’s life is very touching and you wanted to hug her and tell her that it will all work out. Now this is not a book only for women as Kelly’s husband did a wonderful job with chapter 13, which is his part of the story. I am glad that she did not leave his story out it was very wonderfully written. She also includes tons of resources and a glossary in the back of the book. If you know someone or if you yourself are going through this then you need to read this book which is available at http://www.tinytoesbook.com for $14.95
